Today was a busy day at work. It was great to be busy I hate being bored. I had a deadline to meet so that kept me occupied all day long. My mentor showed me a slideshow of her pictures from her trip to Africa. They were fabulous and her stories were interesting.
I got home a little later because I stayed to hear the Africa stories. One of Auntie Carol's neighbours invited us for dinner tonight. They are such a great family they have three kids two girls and a boy.
So we had dinner together and then we took the kids for a bike ride around the block. Well the kids biked and we walked. They were soon joined by all the other neighbourhood kids and they made three trips around the block before they retired to the front steps of one family for freezies.
This neighbourhood is SO family oriented. The kids are so good and the parents are so involved in their kids lives. I watched Fredericke the oldest girl show us how she could make her way across the monkey bars. She did it once but on her second try she fell. Her Dad quickly scooped her up and carried her back to the house. But in a few minutes she was back at it again! Such determination! Everyone around here is so caring and supportive it's amazing. These people are surely the flowers of Whitewood.
So here I sit now alone here. It's my Mom's birthday and I tried to call but they are still at the hospital visiting Dzaidziu. Kathryn says he's quite confused a lot and that he could have sustained permanent brain damage from this ordeal. It just makes me very sad.
I'm looking forward to the week-end because I'm visiting AJ and UJ in Mississauga and then I'm coming back to TO to help with the cooking for the engagement party on Sunday.
